Domains of scholarly investigation

Digital Learning Integration

Investigating how digital technologies within synchronous and asynchornous learning environments shape student engagement, cognitive load, and knowledge creation.

Business Education Pedagogy

Examining innovative curriculum design methodologies that foster critical reflective practice and professional readiness among management students.

Curriculum Innovation - A partnership based approach

Analysis and implementation of evidence-informed assessment and feedback mechanisms in collaboration with students and staff for supporting diverse student cohorts.

The AIEOU Collab Labs

Quality assuring innovative assessment practice

A multi-institutional and international consortium led by Prof. Christian M. Stracke from the University of Bonne, researching AI policies, governance and the ethics of AI and its impact on higher education stakeholders. The group consists of experts in AI, cybernetics, learning technologies, pedagogy and policy influencers.

Built on AIEOU's shared research agenda to explore one critical domain of AI in education. My contribution involved working with an international team of 15+ researchers and experts in AI in Education to bring together voices from the Global South and Global North exploring practical solution to address AI and metacognition in learning and assessment.

A joint funded inquiry involving 8 UK HEIs, this project aims to develop robust quality assurance models that enable the adoption of holistic, programme-level assessment strategies. As part of this project I led on a collection of podcasts hosted through my open access CPD platform TIRIgogy.

ALT Digital Assessment SIG

Student-Staff Partnership SIG

As co-chair and with a group of experts from the UK HE sector, I am investigating how universities can enable students to have a voice and be partners in technology decision making. We also seek evidence of where student partnership is helping to build digital skills, especially for future employability.

Established in September 2024, the Digital Assessment SIG is a collaborative network focused on digital assessment practices and tools. The group provides an open forum for sharing expertise, networking, and examining key pedagogical, technological, ethical, policy, and practical aspects of digital exams and assessment technologies across institutions.

The Partnership SIG (Special Interest Group) provides a collaborative platform for academic and non-academic higher education staff to explore student-staff partnerships. Through in-person and online workshop-style events, it fosters both theoretical discussions on student engagement and focused debates on specific collaborative practices.
